Assistant General Manager Requirements & Qualifications
- 2–3 years of relevant restaurant leadership experience.
- Extensive food and beverage knowledge and understanding of full-service, casual upscale restaurant operations.
- Proficient with reservation systems, inventory management, and POS systems.
- Strong grasp of operational finance, including cash handling and reconciliation.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Demonstrated experience in people management.
- Motivated, reliable, organized, and able to prioritize in a busy environment.
Assistant General Manager Preferred Background & Skills
- Bilingual (Spanish/English).
- Familiarity with Spanish cuisine, wines, and industry trends.
- Experience with P&L, labor management, and COGs.
Assistant General Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Build lasting guest relationships, maintain guest sentiment scores of 90+, and ensure service standards are exceeded.
- Optimize daily operations, staff scheduling, and oversee financial processes to maximize shift profitability.
- Uphold and elevate food quality and brand standards in partnership with culinary, beverage, and marketing teams.
- Support General Manager in health, safety, and compliance protocols to consistently achieve top health inspection grades.
- Recruit, onboard, train, and inspire a high-performing front-of-house team, creating a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
- Complete a range of responsibilities in areas such as beverage management, event support, facilities, inventory, and technology as assigned.
