Nurse Practitioner First Assist Qualification:
- At least 2 years of surgical experience
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of Arizona.
- Certification as a Nurse Practitioner through a recognized board
- DEA license and BLS/ACLS certifications required at the time of hire.
- Experience in interventional pain management techniques.
- Stellar communication skills, oral and written.
- Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Nurse Practitioner First Assist Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, formulate differential diagnoses, and communicate findings with the supervising surgeon
- Ensure pre-operative readiness by reviewing imaging and participating in surgical planning
- Participate in post-op surgical huddles and track and manage post-operative spine patients
- Monitor patient status continuously throughout the anesthesia and operational event
- Document and ensure accuracy of patient assessments, in the electronic health record (EHR)
- Assess, maintain, and ensure patient safety throughout their surgical experience
- Communicate changes in patient condition, concerns, or complications
