Job Title: Electrical Service Manager – Commercial

Location: Miami, Florida

Overview:

A leading South Florida electrical contractor is seeking an experienced Electrical Service Manager to lead its commercial service division in Miami. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise in commercial electrical systems with proven leadership and client management skills to drive profitable, high-quality service work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach, and manage a team of commercial service electricians and technicians, focusing on safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the commercial service department, including dispatch, scheduling, and coordination of service calls, TI work, and small projects for office, retail, healthcare, hospitality, and light industrial clients.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships with building owners, property managers, facility managers, and GC partners; serve as primary point of contact for key commercial accounts.
  • Review and approve work orders, estimates, and change orders; ensure jobs are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Support estimating for small projects and service work, including troubleshooting, repairs, lighting upgrades, panel/service upgrades, and tenant improvements.
  • Monitor department performance metrics (response times, margin, backlog, labor utilization, customer satisfaction) and implement improvements as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, OSHA, local Miami-Dade codes, and company safety standards; champion a strong safety culture in the field.
  • Collaborate with other departments (construction, purchasing, accounting) to align manpower, materials, and billing processes for commercial service work.
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, and ongoing training of commercial service technicians, including technical, safety, and customer service development.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in the electrical trade, with at least 3+ years in a leadership, foreman, or service management role supporting commercial clients.
  • Strong working knowledge of commercial electrical systems (480/277V, 208/120V, lighting controls, panels, feeders, transformers, and emergency power systems).
  • Experience managing technicians, scheduling service calls, and overseeing multiple concurrent commercial service projects.
  • Proven ability to interface professionally with building owners, property managers, and construction partners in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with service management/dispatch software, estimating tools, and Microsoft Office.
  • Florida Electrical Contractor or Journeyman License preferred; equivalent experience with strong commercial background will be considered.
