Accounts Payable Specialist Requirements & Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience using Sage 100 Contractor
• At least 3 years of accounts payable experience in the construction industry
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Accounting, or AA/AS considered
• Strong math and verbal communication skills
• Understanding of job costing and lien release concepts
• Proficiency with electronic file management

Accounts Payable Specialist Preferred Background & Skills

• Exceptional work ethic with a sense of urgency
• Team player with strong interpersonal skills
• Comfortable with transitioning from paper to electronic processes (Sage)

Accounts Payable Specialist Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Process approved invoices, subcontracts, purchase orders, and budgets
• Maintain and update vendor files
• Ensure timely and accurate payment of invoices
• Reconcile accounts, job costs, and process necessary accounting entries
• Maintain certificates of insurance for subcontractors
• Cross-train with payroll team and provide payroll support when needed
• Request lien releases in accordance with contracts
• Organize and file accounts payable documents, primarily electronically
• Run accounting reports and complete other assigned responsibilities
