Due to continued growth, the company is expanding its estimating and preconstruction team and is open to professionals whose current title may not be “Estimator” but whose experience aligns closely with estimating, preconstruction, and pursuit of work.

If you currently work as a Project Engineer, Preconstruction Manager, Project Manager, or Senior Estimator and spend significant time on takeoffs, bid strategy, constructability planning, and client coordination, this role is worth a conversation.


What You’ll Be Doing

This role is focused on the front-end planning and pursuit of commercial concrete projects.

You will:

Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and digitize drawings using takeoff software.

Develop pricing models and estimate multiple projects simultaneously.

Support pursuit strategy from bid through award and internal handoff meetings.

Collaborate with Field Operations and Safety to plan sequencing, formwork, logistics, and budgets.

Communicate with clients to ensure construction plans align with expectations.

Develop and explain critical path schedules and construction logic.

Coordinate with formwork suppliers and rebar and post-tension subcontractors to optimize cycle time and cost.

Analyze subcontractor proposals and scopes for accuracy and risk.

Lead internal estimate review meetings.

Prepare client-facing materials including pour plans, formwork plans, and 3D visuals when applicable.

Price and reconcile drawing changes across multiple design sets.

Participate in post-bid interviews as needed.

Occasionally walk job sites to gather feedback for future estimates and continuous improvement.

This position reports to a Senior Estimator with dotted-line support to executive leadership.

Minimum Qualifications

Commercial concrete construction experience required.

Bachelor’s degree in Building Construction or equivalent experience preferred.

Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Comfort handling large files and confidential information.

Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Ability to visualize 2D drawings in 3D and explain construction logic simply.

Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.


Preferred Experience

Tilt-up and vertical concrete estimating experience.

OSHA certification.

Document control experience.

Construction modeling or Tekla experience.

Exposure to mission-critical or complex commercial projects.
