Commercial HVAC Service Technician Requirements & Qualifications

Minimum 4 years of experience as a commercial HVAC service technician
Strong troubleshooting skills with RTUs (rooftop units)
EPA 608 Universal certification required
Proven ability to read wiring diagrams and troubleshoot controls
Clean driving record
Professional, customer-focused communication skills
Ability to pass a background check, initial drug screen, and MVR

Commercial HVAC Service Technician Preferred Background & Skills

5+ years of commercial HVAC service experience
Experience with VRF/VRV systems (or willingness to train)
Comfortable interacting confidently with clients
Interest or ability to grow into a supervisory role
Bilingual abilities are a plus

Commercial HVAC Service Technician Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair electrical, airflow, and refrigeration issues on commercial systems
Perform preventive maintenance and corrective service on RTUs, VRF/VRV systems, split systems, and related controls
Interpret wiring diagrams and service documentation accurately
Maintain detailed and professional communication with commercial clients
Work independently in the field with strong support from parts, office, and leadership teams
