Assistant Manager Requirements & Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent (required)
1–3+ years of restaurant or retail supervisory experience preferred
Strong leadership and communication skills
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Basic math and computer skills
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 25–50 pounds
Comfortable working in a busy kitchen environment

Assistant Manager Preferred Background & Skills

Experience in quick-service restaurants
Effective team-building and conflict resolution skills
Strong time management and multitasking ability

Assistant Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Assist in managing daily restaurant operations to ensure smooth service and uphold brand standards
Supervise, support, and train crew members during assigned shifts
Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and resolve guest concerns professionally
Help manage inventory, labor, and food costs to support financial goals
Oversee safety, sanitation, and policy compliance, maintaining a clean and safe environment
Support hiring, onboarding, and scheduling of team members
