A full-service law firm is seeking a Legal Assistant to join its Construction practice group in Chicago. This is a hybrid opportunity to work in a collaborative environment supporting attorneys on construction-related litigation matters. The team is open to training candidates with strong litigation support experience.

Key Responsibilities

Provide administrative and legal support to construction attorneys
Manage calendars, schedule meetings, depositions, and travel
Maintain and organize case files
Prepare, format, and proofread legal documents and correspondence
Assist with e-filing in state and federal courts
Track court deadlines and maintain docketing
Open new matters, run conflict checks, and prepare engagement letters
Submit expenses and invoices

Qualifications

5+ years of legal assistant experience
Litigation experience in a law firm required
Construction law experience preferred but not required
Experience with state and federal court filings required
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
Strong communication skills and attention to detail
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
