A full-service law firm is seeking a Legal Assistant to join its Construction practice group in Chicago. This is a hybrid opportunity to work in a collaborative environment supporting attorneys on construction-related litigation matters. The team is open to training candidates with strong litigation support experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and legal support to construction attorneys
  • Manage calendars, schedule meetings, depositions, and travel
  • Maintain and organize case files
  • Prepare, format, and proofread legal documents and correspondence
  • Assist with e-filing in state and federal courts
  • Track court deadlines and maintain docketing
  • Open new matters, run conflict checks, and prepare engagement letters
  • Submit expenses and invoices

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of legal assistant experience
  • Litigation experience in a law firm required
  • Construction law experience preferred but not required
  • Experience with state and federal court filings required
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
