A growing, collaborative law firm is seeking a Associate Litigation Attorney to join its expanding New York-based litigation practice. This role offers the chance to work alongside experienced litigators in a team-oriented environment, managing sophisticated matters across a variety of industries including real estate, financial services, insurance, and corporate sectors.

Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in commercial litigation matters, with a focus on real estate and construction disputes
  • Draft pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, and other court filings
  • Manage discovery, including drafting requests, reviewing documents, and preparing responses
  • Take and defend depositions and assist in developing deposition strategy
  • Appear in court for conferences, hearings, and motion practice
  • Develop case strategy in collaboration with clients and senior attorneys
  • Negotiate settlements and participate in mediations
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and internal teams
  • Assist with trial preparation and overall case management from inception through resolution

Qualifications:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Active admission to the New York Bar (required)
  • New Jersey Bar admission is a plus
  • 4–8 years of civil litigation experience, preferably in commercial litigation
  • Experience handling complex commercial, real estate, or construction disputes
  • Strong experience with motion practice, depositions, and discovery

What We’re Looking For:

  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Experience drafting dispositive and non-dispositive motions
  • Hands-on discovery experience, including e-discovery tools (e.g., Relativity)
  • Ability to manage multiple active cases independently
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Professional judgment with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Base salary range: $150,000 – $185,000 (depending on experience)
