A full-service business and litigation law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant to support its Labor & Employment practice in Chicago. This hybrid role offers a collaborative environment, strong firm culture, and exposure to sophisticated employment matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and legal support to Labor & Employment attorneys
- Manage calendars, schedule depositions, meetings, and travel
- Maintain and organize case files (electronic and physical)
- Prepare, format, proofread, and finalize legal documents and correspondence
- Handle e-filings in state and federal courts
- Track and calendar court deadlines
- File with agencies including EEOC, NLRB, and state human rights commissions
- Open new matters, run conflict checks, and prepare engagement letters
- Submit expenses and invoices
Qualifications
- 4+ years of legal assistant experience
- Prior litigation experience in a law firm required
- Experience with Labor & Employment law strongly preferred
- Experience with state and federal court filings required
- Familiarity with EEOC, NLRB, or similar agency filings preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management systems
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage a high-volume workload and meet deadlines
