General Manager – South Shore, MA

General Manager Requirements & Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive restaurant leadership, including experience as General Manager in upscale casual or fine dining
  • Strong expertise in cost control, budgeting, and P&L management
  • Proven ability to build guest loyalty through active floor presence and table touches
  • Demonstrated success leading, mentoring, and retaining high-performing teams
  • In-depth understanding of hospitality, service standards, and smooth dining room flow
  • Hands-on, floor-driven leadership style
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

General Manager Preferred Background & Skills

General Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Be the welcoming, highly visible presence in the dining room during service
  • Conduct regular table visits to build guest relationships and ensure satisfaction
  • Oversee daily front-of-house and back-of-house operations for a $14 million location
  • Lead, train, and develop a team with high standards of hospitality and accountability
  • Manage P&L performance, including food, beverage, and labor cost control
  • Maintain excellence in food quality, presentation, cleanliness, and guest ambiance
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations
  • Foster a positive, solutions-oriented environment for staff and guests
