Medical Director – Dermatology (2 Openings)
Regional Leadership Role | North Carolina
Compensation: Up to $300,000
A growing multi-clinic healthcare network in North Carolina is seeking two Board-Certified Dermatologists to serve as Regional Medical Directors of Dermatology overseeing dermatology services across a 10-clinic region.
This leadership opportunity combines clinical dermatology with strategic oversight, allowing experienced dermatologists to shape program development, support providers, and expand access to dermatologic care across a growing network of primary care clinics.
About the Opportunity
The Medical Directors will serve as the clinical leaders for dermatology services across the region, establishing protocols, mentoring providers, and helping integrate dermatology services into primary care settings.
This role is ideal for physicians who enjoy building programs, guiding clinical standards, and expanding specialty access in community-based care environments.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership
- Serve as Medical Director for dermatology services across a 10-clinic region
- Establish and maintain clinical protocols, standards of care, and dermatology best practices
- Provide consultation and guidance to primary care providers on dermatologic conditions
- Support quality improvement initiatives and clinical program development
Clinical Care
- Provide comprehensive dermatologic evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment
- Diagnose and manage a wide range of dermatologic conditions including:
- Chronic skin disorders
- Skin cancers
- Inflammatory dermatologic conditions
- Perform dermatologic procedures including:
- Biopsies
- Excisions
- Cryotherapy
- Other in-office dermatologic treatments
Program Development
- Help design and expand dermatology services across multiple clinic sites
- Collaborate with executive leadership to improve patient access to specialty care
- Identify opportunities for workflow improvement and care coordination
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and mentoring of dermatology providers and advanced practice clinicians
Qualifications
Required
- MD or DO
- Board Certified in Dermatology
- Active North Carolina medical license (or ability to obtain prior to start)
Preferred
- 5+ years of clinical dermatology experience
- Leadership or Medical Director experience
- Experience collaborating within multi-specialty or primary care environments
- Strong commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary up to $300,000 depending on experience
