Are you passionate about food safety, regulatory compliance, and quality systems? We are seeking a detail-oriented Food Safety & Quality Systems Coordinator to support and maintain our Food Safety & Quality Management System while ensuring products meet customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys collaborating across departments, managing documentation, and driving continuous improvement in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
What You'll Do
Food Safety & Quality Systems
- Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Maintain SOPs, work instructions, controlled documents, and quality records.
- Assist with CAPA investigations, non-conformance tracking, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support traceability programs, mock recalls, supplier approval documentation, and document control systems.
- Track and trend quality metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
Nutritional Labeling & Regulatory Compliance
- Create, review, and maintain accurate nutritional labels in compliance with FDA, USDA, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Verify ingredient statements, allergen declarations, and product claims.
- Support new product launches and product reformulations by ensuring labeling compliance.
- Maintain label approval workflows and documentation.
Customer Documentation & Portal Management
- Manage customer portals and maintain accurate product specifications, certifications, COAs, and quality documentation.
- Respond to customer documentation requests and support customer audit activities.
- Ensure consistency and accuracy of information across internal and external systems.
Audit & Compliance
- Prepare documentation and support internal, customer, third-party, and regulatory audits.
- Help maintain compliance with GFSI standards, including SQF, BRC, or FSSC 22000.
- Monitor changes to FDA, USDA, FSMA, and other applicable food safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Nutrition, or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in food manufacturing, food safety, quality assurance, or regulatory compliance.
- Experience with food labeling regulations, allergen management, and nutritional labeling.
- Familiarity with GFSI standards such as SQF, BRC, or FSSC 22000.
- Experience managing customer portals and document control systems is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of CAPA, internal audits, traceability programs, and quality management systems.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality management/database systems.
