Kitchen Manager Requirements & Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Kitchen Manager in a high-volume restaurant
  • Ability to pass SIDA badging, as the restaurant is located behind security
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite and general computer literacy
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and respond efficiently to unanticipated problems

Kitchen Manager Preferred Background & Skills

  • Familiarity with American cuisine and contemporary culinary techniques
  • Experience managing inventory, portion control, and food costs
  • Strong leadership skills, with a focus on employee development and upholding performance standards

Kitchen Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Lead kitchen operations, setting high standards for food preparation and presentation while motivating your team
  • Supervise and delegate food preparation, ensuring smooth collaboration between front- and back-of-house
  • Oversee inventory and labor costs, strategically scheduling staff to optimize financial results
  • Provide ongoing training for kitchen staff to ensure excellence and consistency in food quality
  • Uphold all health, safety, and sanitation standards, implementing corrective actions as needed
  • Foster a positive, communicative, and supportive team environment
