A mission-driven organization focused on community impact and economic resilience is seeking a Loan Program Manager to oversee community lending and investment initiatives that support nonprofit sustainability and commercial ownership opportunities. This role will manage loan portfolios, coordinate partnerships, support borrower engagement, and help drive long-term impact through strategic capital deployment.

Loan Program Manager Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple active loan and investment programs, including portfolio oversight, payment tracking, compliance, and borrower support
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for borrowers post-closing and maintain strong ongoing relationships
  • Coordinate with finance and internal stakeholders regarding servicing, reporting, and loan documentation
  • Support loan compliance activities, including collection of financial statements, audits, and reporting requirements
  • Oversee external vendors and partners providing lending support, technical assistance, and financial coaching services
  • Assist in developing and improving borrower workflows, application processes, and servicing systems
  • Conduct intake and introductory calls with prospective borrowers and guide applicants through early-stage processes
  • Build and maintain relationships with community partners and organizations to support pipeline development
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support deal structuring and program delivery
  • Track program performance, identify operational improvements, and support ongoing program growth

Loan Program Manager Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in community development finance, nonprofit lending, impact investing, philanthropy, CDFIs, foundations, or related financial/community-based organizations
  • Experience managing loan portfolios, lending programs, grant/loan hybrid programs, or community investment initiatives
  • Strong understanding of financial lending concepts, loan servicing, and borrower relationship management
  • Experience working within mission-driven or nonprofit-focused environments
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, nimble, and collaborative environment
  • Experience managing multiple stakeholders, vendors, and cross-functional partnerships
  • Experience with RFPs, compliance documentation, reporting, and operational coordination preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Excel and financial analysis tools preferred
