Requirements & Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of maritime project management experience
  • Strong background in steel vessel construction and shipyard operations
  • Deep knowledge of USCG and Classification Society standards
  • Proven leadership experience managing cross-functional teams and subcontractors
  • Ability to manage complex budgets, schedules, and project lifecycles
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, evolving project environments

Must Haves:

  • Lead end-to-end execution of steel vessel fabrication projects, including sequencing, material flow, and delivery timelines
  • Act as the primary liaison between ownership groups, regulatory bodies, and internal production teams
  • Identify project risks early and implement mitigation strategies to keep builds on track
  • Drive collaboration between engineering, production, and subcontractor teams to resolve technical challenges
  • Present project updates, performance metrics, and improvement initiatives to senior leadership
  • Champion safety protocols while maintaining aggressive production schedules
  • Mentor junior project managers and supervisors to elevate overall team capability

Preferred Background & Skills:

  • Experience working in shipyards or heavy industrial manufacturing environments
  • Background managing multiple concurrent vessel builds or large-scale fabrication projects
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing project P&L
  • Experience implementing process improvements or operational efficiencies
  • Prior experience interfacing directly with vessel owners or government stakeholders
