Director of Training

Location: Hybrid (Southern California-based preferred)

Full-Time | Exempt

Position Summary

The Director of Training will lead the development, execution, and continuous improvement of company-wide training systems to support operational excellence and future growth. This individual will design scalable infrastructure to ensure consistent execution across existing locations and upcoming openings, partnering cross-functionally with Operations and HR to align training with leadership development and succession planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine structured training systems for multi-unit operations
  • Standardize materials and readiness benchmarks for new location launches
  • Build certification processes for managers and hourly team members
  • Oversee digital learning platforms and drive adoption across locations
  • Translate operational standards into measurable training programs
  • Establish train-the-trainer processes and certified training locations
  • Partner with HR on compliance training execution
  • Develop leadership pathways focused on execution, financial acumen, and accountability
  • Implement dashboards to track completion, readiness, and skill gaps
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and tie outcomes to operational performance

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of multi-unit restaurant leadership experience in Training, Operations, or L&D
  • Proven new restaurant opening support experience
  • Experience managing or implementing LMS platforms
  • Strong understanding of restaurant technology and POS systems
  • Demonstrated ability to build scalable training programs
  • Knowledge of hospitality compliance standards
  • Strong project management and cross-functional leadership skills
  • Bilingual preferred; willingness to travel required
