Civil Project Manager Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related discipline
  • 8+ years of civil engineering experience, including at least 3 years in assistant project management roles
  • Land development engineering experience, including residential and commercial projects
  • Thorough understanding of municipal codes and regulations
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Registered Professional Engineer in relevant field strongly preferred
  • Experience with stormwater modeling, hydrologic calculations, and open channel/detention basin design

Civil Project Manager Preferred Background & Skills

  • Experience with AES, CIVILD, WSPGW, PCSWMM, StormCAD, HEC-HMS, and HEC-RAS
  • Familiarity with CLOMR/LOMR applications and processing
  • Strong marketing and business development skills
  • Outstanding client management and communication skills

Civil Project Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Oversee execution and management of complex civil engineering projects to ensure timeliness and budget compliance
  • Lead, supervise, and review work of project staff to uphold quality standards
  • Foster and maintain positive client relationships, addressing technical and billing inquiries as needed
  • Prepare and direct design, specifications, estimates, and reports for land development projects
  • Monitor project progress, costs, billing, and accounts receivable to drive profitability
  • Collaborate with internal departments and support business development initiatives, marketing presentations, and client meetings
