The Nashville office is seeking a Litigation Staff Attorney with experience handling tort litigation matters, preferably involving healthcare, medical malpractice, long-term care, or nursing home defense. This role offers substantial responsibility, direct client interaction, regular courtroom appearances, and the opportunity to work alongside experienced litigators in a collegial and supportive environment.

Litigation Staff Attorney Benefits & Compensation

  • $150,000–$200,000 base salary, depending on experience

Litigation Staff Attorney Responsibilities

  • Manage tort litigation matters from inception through resolution
  • Conduct and defend depositions
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other litigation documents
  • Attend hearings, mediations, and court appearances
  • Assist with trial preparation and trial support
  • Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and courts
  • Develop litigation strategy and case evaluations
  • Travel periodically throughout Tennessee for litigation-related matters

Litigation Staff Attorney Requirements

  • Active Tennessee Bar license or ability to waive into Tennessee
  • 4+ years of litigation experience
  • Tort litigation experience required
  • Experience in healthcare litigation, medical malpractice defense, long-term care defense, nursing home litigation, or related practice areas strongly preferred
  • Experience conducting and defending depositions
  • Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
  • Courtroom experience and comfort handling hearings independently
  • Trial experience is a plus
  • Strong organizational and case management skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team
