Director of IT / Head of Technology Operations Benefits and Compensation:

Director of IT / Head of Technology Operations Requirements & Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in IT operations, infrastructure, or technology operations leadership
  • Strong background supporting high-volume retail, e-commerce, big-box retail, or multi-location environments
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Google Workspace administration
    • Identity and access management
    • MDM and endpoint management
    • POS systems and store technology support
    • Helpdesk operations and IT support workflows
    • MSP/vendor management
    • Endpoint security and device lifecycle management
  • Experience building and standardizing IT processes, onboarding/offboarding workflows, and infrastructure playbooks
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
  • Strong troubleshooting, operational, and organizational skills
  • Comfortable being both strategic and hands-on with day-to-day IT execution
  • Experience supporting networking, Wi-Fi, hardware deployment, and user access management across multiple locations
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to partner cross-functionally with Operations, Finance, HR, and Leadership teams
  • Ability to support store openings, infrastructure consistency, and operational scalability
  • Leadership style that is collaborative, accountable, and execution-focused

 

Director of IT / Head of Technology Operations Preferred Background & Skills:

  • Experience working within startup or high-growth environments
  • Background supporting retail expansion and multi-site infrastructure deployments
  • Exposure to cybersecurity best practices and security governance execution
  • Experience supporting business continuity and disaster recovery initiatives
  • Familiarity with SaaS vendor management, telecom providers, and outsourced IT services
  • Experience creating scalable operational documentation and technology standards
  • Candidates stepping into their first Director-level role from a strong IT Manager background may also be considered
  • Retail technology experience involving POS, networking, security systems, and operational support strongly preferred
