Credit Manager – Richmond, VA

Credit Manager Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and professionally
  • Customer service experience, including strong phone/email communication
  • Consistent reliability and punctuality, working primarily independently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong computer proficiency with Windows and Office applications
  • Knowledge of collection processes and familiarity with accounting principles

Credit Manager Preferred Background & Skills

  • Experience with accounting software such as Microsoft Dynamics Business Central
  • Exposure to commodity-driven industries and an understanding of financial risk dynamics

Credit Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Oversee accounts receivable, credit, and collections activities to ensure timely recording of transactions
  • Partner closely with the sales team to communicate account status and support customer satisfaction
  • Handle customer communications, process payments (ACH, check, wire), and resolve credit or billing inquiries
  • Monitor and manage the collection of past due amounts, including negotiating payment plans and escalating accounts as needed
  • Process and review new and existing customer credit applications, run credit reports, and recommend account adjustments
  • Analyze trends related to commodity pricing and interest rates, supporting strategic financial planning with finance leadership
  • Issue demand letters, monitor A/R aging statements, and collaborate in risk mitigation efforts alongside the Director of Finance
