Nurse Practitioner First Assist Qualification:

At least 2 years of surgical experience
Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of Arizona.
Certification as a Nurse Practitioner through a recognized board
DEA license and BLS/ACLS certifications required at the time of hire.
Experience in interventional pain management techniques.
Stellar communication skills, oral and written.
Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care.
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Nurse Practitioner First Assist Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive assessments, formulate differential diagnoses, and communicate findings with the supervising surgeon
Ensure pre-operative readiness by reviewing imaging and participating in surgical planning
Participate in post-op surgical huddles and track and manage post-operative spine patients
Monitor patient status continuously throughout the anesthesia and operational event
Document and ensure accuracy of patient assessments, in the electronic health record (EHR)
Assess, maintain, and ensure patient safety throughout their surgical experience
Communicate changes in patient condition, concerns, or complications
