A highly respected, established fine-dining restaurant group in New York City is preparing to launch an exciting new upscale concept opening in mid-2026. We are seeking an exceptional General Manager to join the company now to learn our systems, culture, and standards—and serve as a key leader through the full pre-opening, opening, and post-launch phases.
This is a rare opportunity to join a premier hospitality group and shape every aspect of a new flagship opening.
About the Role
The General Manager will begin by immersing themselves in the company’s operations, service model, and brand philosophy across existing restaurant locations. As opening planning accelerates, the GM will become deeply involved in:
- Hiring, training, and onboarding the opening team
- Building service standards and operational systems
- Overseeing pre-opening timelines, walkthroughs, and critical path milestones
- Working alongside ownership, culinary leadership, and the operations team to ensure a flawless launch
Once open, the GM will continue serving as the hands-on leader of all front-of-house operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing FOH team capable of delivering upscale, polished service at all times.
- Uphold and elevate the company’s hospitality standards, culture, and guest experience expectations.
- Oversee daily operations, including service execution, guest relations, staffing, scheduling, and team development.
- Manage performance and financial targets, including labor, COGS, and high-volume service flow.
- Act as the primary liaison between ownership, culinary leadership, beverage teams, and FOH staff.
- Build strong relationships with guests, vendors, and team members—ensuring excellence in every detail.
- Participate directly in all pre-opening tasks including hiring, training, systems development, and service design.
- Maintain a polished presence on the floor during service, ensuring a warm, seamless, and guest-centered environment.
Qualifications
- 5–7+ years of leadership experience in upscale or fine-dining operations.
- Experience overseeing high-volume operations—at least $8M+ in annual sales.
- Strong working knowledge of wine, spirits, cocktails, and beverage program management.
- Proven success in hiring, training, and developing large hospitality teams.
- Experience with openings is strongly preferred (either as GM, AGM, or Director role).
- Highly polished, composed, and professional communication style.
- Strong financial acumen and understanding of P&L management.
- Ability to build culture, lead with empathy, and inspire excellence.
- Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
What We Offer
- Highly competitive base salary + performance incentives
- Medical, dental, and vision benefits
- Dining privileges within the restaurant group
- Growth opportunities within an expanding, award-winning company
- The chance to help build and launch one of NYC’s most exciting new restaurant openings
