Quality of Life Executive Chef Role

Upscale Boutique Restaurant | Greater Boston

A HANDS-ON CULINARY ROLE WITH A BETTER QUALITY OF LIFE!

No late nights! Closed Sundays and Mondays! Fridays and Saturdays wrap up at 5 PM!

An established hospitality group is seeking a talented, hands-on Executive Chef to lead the kitchen of an intimate, upscale European-inspired restaurant. This is an opportunity for a chef who loves cooking great food, working with quality ingredients, and creating memorable dining experiences without the demands of a traditional high-volume restaurant.

Executive Chef Benefits

  • Additional bonus incentives
  • Generous PTO, Vacation, Sick Time
  • Health and dental insurance
  • 401(k) retirement plan with employer match
  • Small dining room, intimate kitchen team, manageable guest volume, and exceptional Quality of Life schedule

Executive Chef Qualifications

  • Previous experience as an Executive Chef, Chef de Cuisine, or accomplished Sous Chef ready to take the next step
  • Culinary background in upscale casual dining, fine dining, European bistros, or contemporary American cuisine
  • Passion for scratch cooking, quality ingredients, seasonal menus, and thoughtful food presentation
  • Experience with food costs, purchasing, inventory, kitchen organization, and team development
  • Hands-on leadership style, strong organizational skills, and adaptability to an all-electric kitchen without open flames or traditional fryers

Executive Chef Responsibilities

  • Lead daily culinary operations while remaining actively involved in preparation, cooking, plating, and service
  • Execute and continually refine a thoughtfully developed menu of contemporary European-inspired cuisine and shareable plates
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a small kitchen team while maintaining a positive, collaborative environment
  • Oversee purchasing, inventory, portion control, food costs, sanitation, and kitchen organization
  • Collaborate with management on menu development, seasonal offerings, and occasional catering and special-event production

A Different Kind of Executive Chef Opportunity

If you enjoy cooking, take pride in the details, and would rather lead a small, quality-focused kitchen than manage a large, high-volume operation, this could be an excellent next step. Enjoy greater ownership of your culinary program, a collaborative team, and a schedule that allows more time outside the kitchen.
