About the company:

A leading provider of window, door and storefront solutions for commercial properties on the east coast. Sells to property owners, property management companies and general contractors through offices in the metro Baltimore / Washington, Boston and Atlanta. 

Position Overview: This is an entry level position with growth opportunity in either the Sales, Estimating, or Project Management functions. The successful Sales Engineer Trainee will: Bring a solid fundamental understanding of construction documents and concepts and a willingness to learn about the window and door industry. 

Essential Functions:

Projects Take-offs & Estimates

·        Prepare project takeoff from jobsite visits, plans, drawings and specifications

·        Create bid packages to be sent to vendors and subcontractors for pricing

·        Prepare project estimates

·        Maintain organized and accurate records of takeoffs, estimates, and bid notes

Pre-Construction Submittals

·        Prepare all pre-construction submittals in accordance with specifications and coordinate with customers for review / approval.

·        Submit RFIs as required to address conflicts or questions related to the project specifications or drawings.

·        Other Duties assigned by the Sales Director.

Skills & Requirements:

·        Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business or related field

·        Understanding of architectural plans and construction drawings preferred

·        Ability to grasp new concepts quickly and integrate into day-to-day tasks

·        Strong attention to detail, with excellent interpersonal skills

·        Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and ability to learn new technologies
