Join our team as the HR Manager and take full ownership of building and leading the internal HR function for a growing manufacturing facility. Reporting directly to the company President, you will serve as the primary HR resource for approximately 50 employees, balancing day-to-day employee support with the development of scalable HR systems, processes, and frameworks that position the organization for continued growth.
This role is ideal for a hands-on HR professional who has experience supporting both hourly and salaried employees in a manufacturing environment, and who wants the opportunity to build something meaningful from the ground up, as well as grow alongside a stable and expanding company with a genuinely collaborative culture.
HR Manager | What You Will Do
- Serve as the primary HR resource for employees and managers, providing accessible, consistent, and confidential support across the organization
- Manage employee relations matters including workplace complaints, conflict resolution, investigations, and corrective action in a fair, timely, and well-documented manner
- Administer FMLA and Washington Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML), ensuring compliant documentation and clear employee communication
- Coordinate payroll, benefits administration, leave tracking, personnel records, and other recurring HR activities
- Build and implement a structured performance review process with measurable goals, defined expectations, and consistent practices across departments
- Develop accurate job descriptions and partner with leadership to establish career-development and merit-increase frameworks
- Support recruiting by managing candidate coordination, screening, and interview logistics while partnering with leadership on final selection decisions
- Coach managers and team leads on performance management, employee communication, and people-related decision-making
HR Manager | What You Bring
- 3–5 years of progressive HR experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or hands-on work environment
- Working knowledge of Washington state employment law, including FMLA/PFML, wage-and-hour compliance, and general HR compliance obligations
- Demonstrated experience independently handling employee complaints, workplace investigations, and corrective action
- Proven ability to build HR processes from the ground up: job descriptions, performance reviews, career frameworks, and documentation standards
- Hands-on experience with payroll, benefits administration, leave management, recruiting, and onboarding
- Approachable, empathetic communication style with the confidence and judgment to address difficult issues directly and professionally
HR Manager | The Perks
- Competitive salary range with a target hiring range of $115,000–$125,000 depending on experience
- Health, dental, and vision insurance plus HSA
- 401(k) retirement plan with company match
- Paid time off and discretionary quarterly performance bonus
- Long-term disability insurance
