A nonprofit organization is seeking a Director, Industry Membership to drive membership growth while cultivating, stewarding, and retaining relationships. This role will develop new membership opportunities, maintain existing relationships, and support engagement across the membership community. The Director will be responsible for business development, membership cultivation and stewardship, relationship management, networking, and strategic planning.

- $180,000–$200,000 base salary, commensurate with experience

Requirements & Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in business development, membership development, fundraising, partnerships, relationship management, or a related field
- Proven success acquiring, cultivating, stewarding, and retaining members, donors, clients, partners, or other relationships
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with senior executives and decision-makers
- Proven track record of prospecting for and developing new relationships and opportunities
- Established professional network
- Ability to create engagement strategies that demonstrate value and encourage long-term member retention
- Strong business development mindset with the ability to support membership growth
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
- Professional demeanor and strong relationship-building skills
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple relationships, priorities, deadlines, and initiatives
- Comfortable networking, attending events, prospecting, and representing an organization externally
- Adaptable and comfortable with evolving priorities
- Bachelor's degree required
- Ability to work onsite five days per week
Preferred Background & Skills
- Experience managing the full membership lifecycle, from prospecting and acquisition through cultivation, stewardship, engagement, renewal, and retention
- Experience growing executive, corporate, institutional, professional, or industry memberships
- Experience developing partnerships, sponsorships, executive councils, industry communities, or strategic relationships
- Experience working for a nonprofit, museum, cultural institution, library, tourism organization, visitor bureau, or other mission-driven organization with a membership component
- Experience representing an organization at events, conferences, receptions, and executive gatherings
- Ability to identify opportunities for deeper member engagement and increase participation and retention
- Strong understanding of relationship management, prospect development, and long-term cultivation
- Proficiency with Airtable and Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus
