Superintendent – Public Works (Water Treatment Plant/SCVWD Project) – Santa Clara County, CA

This is an opportunity to take a key leadership role on a high-profile, multi-year water treatment plant project in partnership with public agencies, driving impactful work that benefits local communities.

Superintendent – Public Works Benefits & Compensation

Superintendent – Public Works Requirements & Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of construction experience; at least 5 years in water treatment plant projects
  • 5+ years in construction of water and/or wastewater treatment plants of at least 25 mgd
  • 5+ years as a general superintendent on major facility construction
  • Experience managing field crews, foremen, subcontractors, and project execution
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Experience working for a contractor as a superintendent

Superintendent – Public Works Preferred Background & Skills

  • Prior work on large-scale, public-sector water infrastructure projects
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with owners, inspectors, and stakeholders

Superintendent – Public Works Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Lead daily field operations for a major water treatment plant project
  • Oversee foremen, craft labor, and subcontractors to ensure adherence to schedule and quality standards
  • Collaborate closely with project management on planning, sequencing, and execution
  • Ensure full compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
  • Troubleshoot constructability issues and proactively resolve challenges onsite
  • Oversee project documentation, field reporting, and coordination with agency representatives
