Banquet Manager Requirements & Qualifications

  • Prior supervisory or management experience in banquets, within an upscale environment
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating and executing weddings, corporate events, private parties, or large events
  • Background in a country club, resort, hotel, or similar hospitality setting required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Event Management, Business, Marketing, or related field preferred

Banquet Manager Preferred Background & Skills

  • Strong operational, organizational, and communication abilities
  • Ability to lead, train, and motivate a diverse team
  • Hands-on approach with strong problem-solving and client-relations skills

Banquet Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Manage the planning and operational execution of all banquets and special events, ensuring every detail aligns with client expectations and company standards
  • Work directly with clients and cross-functional teams to finalize event logistics, timelines, and services
  • Supervise, schedule, and support Banquet Captains, coordinators, and staff, providing leadership before, during, and after events
  • Oversee event setup, service, and breakdown to ensure quality and efficiency
  • Monitor staffing, labor, and banquet supply costs to support financial goals and optimal event execution
  • Foster a positive, professional, and service-oriented environment through hands-on guidance and clear communication
