Associate Director of Sales & Marketing – San Francisco

Associate Director of Sales Requirements & Qualifications
- At least 4 years of progressive hotel sales experience in Business Travel; alternatives include a 4-year college degree plus 1 year of related experience, or a 2-year degree plus 2 years of related experience
- Valid driver’s license in applicable state
- Prior experience in business travel and large group sales
- Thorough knowledge of professional selling skills and sales/marketing best practices
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems; experience with Hilton-specific software a plus
- Strong analytical, organizational, and presentation skills
- Ability to multi-task and work independently
- Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities
- Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate diverse teams
- Ability to handle financial data and basic arithmetic functions
Associate Director of Sales Preferred Background & Skills
- Familiarity with Hilton proprietary property management systems
- Experience supervising sales or operations staff
- Track record in developing strategic hotel sales plans
- Involvement with local industry organizations
Associate Director of Sales Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Lead and coach a team of Sales Managers, overseeing direct sales, follow-ups, and administration
- Manage and grow a portfolio of corporate business travel accounts to increase market share
- Prospect, negotiate, and close large group opportunities, securing revenue from a variety of market segments
- Conduct routine sales calls, client visits, industry events, and site inspections to generate and nurture business
- Develop and execute strategic sales and marketing plans in partnership with Revenue, Marketing, and Operations
- Maintain accurate sales activity tracking and pipeline reporting in CRM and sales systems
- Collaborate with hotel teams to deliver seamless client experiences and achieve budgeted revenue targets
- Respond to RFPs, negotiate contracts, and oversee the sales process from inquiry to operations handoff
- Provide ongoing training to hotel staff on sales opportunities and revenue maximization
- Attend and lead divisional meetings, community networking events, and industry meetings
- Serve as acting leader in the absence of senior management as needed
