Electrical Safety Director

Location: Remote; up to 50% travel throughout the Southeast

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Safety Director to lead and continuously improve electrical safety programs across multiple projects and field teams. This senior leader will serve as the company’s subject matter expert for NFPA 70E, OSHA electrical standards, arc-flash prevention, energized work, lockout/tagout, and electrical hazard management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead companywide electrical safety policies, procedures, training, audits, and compliance initiatives.
  • Partner with operations, project teams, field supervision, and executive leadership to identify and mitigate electrical risk.
  • Conduct jobsite inspections, safety audits, field observations, and compliance reviews.
  • Review energized-work permits, task hazard analyses, lockout/tagout procedures, shutdown plans, and high-risk work activities.
  • Lead or support incident investigations, root-cause analysis, corrective-action plans, and regulatory response.
  • Develop and deliver electrical safety training for electricians, supervisors, project managers, and safety personnel.
  • Ensure consistent safety practices across field operations, subcontractors, tools, equipment, temporary power, and electrical installations.
  • Travel regularly to jobsites, field offices, client locations, and training events throughout the Southeast.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of electrical experience in commercial, industrial, utility, institutional, or large-scale construction environments.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in electrical safety, EHS, field operations, or electrical supervision.
  • Expert knowledge of NFPA 70E, OSHA electrical standards, NEC, lockout/tagout, energized-work practices, and arc-flash risk management.
  • Experience building and managing electrical safety programs across multiple projects or locations.
  • Strong background in field audits, safety inspections, incident investigations, training, and corrective-action management.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings, one-lines, work plans, and equipment documentation.
  • Excellent communication, training, leadership, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 50%.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Journeyman or Master Electrician license.
  • CSP, CHST, OSHA 30, or comparable safety credential.
  • Experience with high- and low-voltage systems, switchgear, generators, temporary power, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Experience supporting mission-critical, healthcare, industrial, utility, manufacturing, renewable-energy, or data-center projects.
