Sr. Structural Engineer (SE)
Locations: Chicago and multiple offices throughout Illinois
Join a highly regarded, multidiscipline engineering firm known for delivering innovative design solutions across transportation and building infrastructure projects.
Role Overview:
- Lead and perform design and analysis for structural components on a variety of building and transportation projects.
- Manage technical aspects of projects from concept through completion, ensuring quality and compliance with codes and standards.
- Oversee preparation of design plans, specifications, calculations, and cost estimates.
- Conduct field inspections and structural assessments of existing facilities.
- Collaborate closely with other engineering disciplines, architects, and clients to achieve project goals.
- Mentor and guide structural engineering staff to foster professional growth.
- Contribute to proposal development, project scoping, and budgeting.
- Represent the firm at client meetings and provide technical expertise and leadership.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
- Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience in structural design and analysis for bridges, buildings, or transportation-related structures.
- Illinois Structural Engineer (SE) license required or ability to obtain by reciprocity.
- Thorough understanding of structural codes, standards, and design practices.
- Proficiency with industry software such as STAAD, RISA, RAM, Revit, or AutoCAD.
- Strong communication, coordination, and technical writing abilities.
- Demonstrated success leading teams within a multidisciplinary project environment.
