Commercial Litigation Paralegal Requirements & Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of commercial litigation paralegal experience, preferably with a well-regarded New York law firm
  • Deep understanding of New York State and Federal court procedures
  • Proficiency in NYSCEF and PACER e-filing systems
  • Demonstrated experience in managing all phases of litigation, from discovery through trial
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Proven ability to work independently and proactively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Commercial Litigation Paralegal Preferred Background & Skills

  • Experience in real estate litigation, business and contract disputes, bankruptcy/restructuring, or financial litigation

Commercial Litigation Paralegal Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Support attorneys in all phases of complex commercial litigation matters
  • Prepare, organize, and file pleadings, motions, discovery, and other legal documents in state and federal courts
  • Oversee case files, calendars, deadlines, and litigation workflows
  • Manage document production, reviews, subpoena processes, and deposition logistics
  • Prepare exhibits, deposition binders, hearing materials, and trial notebooks
  • Coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and third-party vendors
  • Assist with legal research and fact investigations as needed
  • Provide support during hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials
