Join a collaborative, multidisciplinary behavioral health team providing recovery-focused psychiatric care to adults with severe mental illness, trauma histories, co-occurring substance use disorders, and complex psychosocial needs. Requirements & Qualifications
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Adult Psychiatry
- Active Rhode Island medical license or ability to obtain one
- Active DEA registration
- Ability to complete credentialing with insurance providers
- Valid driver’s license or reliable transportation
- Experience treating adults with severe and persistent mental illness is preferred
Must Haves
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and establish accurate diagnoses
- Develop individualized treatment plans for adults with complex behavioral health needs
- Prescribe, adjust, and monitor psychiatric medications and treatment response
- Consult with therapists, case managers, primary care providers, and other treatment team members
- Support integrated behavioral health and primary care services
- Provide clinical guidance and psychiatric education to staff and treatment teams
- Maintain timely, accurate documentation that meets clinical, regulatory, and payer requirements
- Build productive relationships with community medical and behavioral health providers
- Participate in utilization review, quality assurance, or related clinical committees as assigned
Preferred Background & Skills
- Five or more years of experience treating individuals with severe and persistent mental illness
- Experience with trauma-informed and recovery-oriented care
- Background treating co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders
- Community mental health or integrated care experience
- Comfort working with adults experiencing housing instability or other complex social needs
- Strong consultation, mentoring, and interdisciplinary communication skills
- Experience providing psychiatric services through telehealth
