Outpatient/Surgical Services Manager – Eastland, TX

Outpatient/Surgical Services Manager Benefits and Compensation:

Outpatient/Surgical Services Manager Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or Compact Multistate License with eligibility to practice in Texas
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field is desirable
  • Minimum three (3) years of perioperative nursing experience required with previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) certifications preferred
  • Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing standards, CMS Conditions of Participation, infection prevention, sterile processing, patient safety, regulatory compliance, and quality improvement programs
  • Lead daily operations of Outpatient and Surgical Services, ensuring safe, efficient, and patient-centered care across pre-operative, intra-operative, post-anesthesia (PACU), and outpatient services
  • Develop staffing schedules, manage staffing levels based on surgical volumes, recruit and mentor staff, complete performance evaluations, and support employee development and competency assessments
  • Partner with surgeons, anesthesia providers, pharmacy, infection prevention, quality, and ancillary departments to coordinate seamless patient care and optimize surgical workflows
  • Monitor departmental quality indicators, investigate patient safety events and complaints, participate in Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives, and implement corrective action plans
  • Ensure continuous compliance with CMS Conditions of Participation, OSHA regulations, state and federal requirements, accreditation standards, medication safety practices, sterile processing standards, and infection prevention protocols
  • Assist with departmental budgeting, monitor productivity, control supply utilization, collaborate with Materials Management, and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency while maintaining high-quality patient care
  • Utilize electronic medical records (EMR) and hospital information systems to monitor departmental performance, analyze quality metrics, and support operational decision-making
  • Provide clinical leadership and direct patient care support when needed to maintain staffing continuity and ensure efficient departmental operations

Outpatient/Surgical Services Manager Preferred Background & Skills:

  • Experience leading outpatient surgery centers, ambulatory surgery programs, PACU, circulating nursing, sterile processing, and perioperative quality improvement initiatives; familiarity with EMR systems, surgical scheduling platforms, and hospital information systems
  • Demonstrated servant leadership, strong communication and conflict resolution skills, exceptional organizational abilities, sound clinical judgment, and a commitment to patient safety, employee engagement, continuous improvement, and building collaborative relationships across multidisciplinary healthcare teams
