Assistant General Manager Requirements & Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of management experience in quick-service restaurants, hospitality, or a related customer-service environment
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities
  • Comfortable analyzing operational data to improve performance
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Assistant General Manager Preferred Background & Skills

  • Supervisory experience at a major quick-service restaurant
  • Familiarity with restaurant management systems, such as workforce scheduling, point of sale, or learning platforms
  • ServSafe Certification
  • Background in high-volume team management and staff development

Assistant General Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Support, coach, and develop a high-performing restaurant team
  • Lead daily operations to ensure food safety, quality, cleanliness, and service standards
  • Assist with inventory, labor management, and cost control processes
  • Foster a welcoming, guest-first culture by addressing guest needs and resolving issues professionally
  • Enforce health, safety, and regulatory compliance throughout the restaurant
  • Execute local marketing initiatives and support community engagement efforts
