Sous Chef Qualifications
- 3+ years of culinary leadership experience in a high-volume, upscale kitchen
- Strong background in Asian cuisine with exceptional culinary technique and presentation skills
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop kitchen teams in a fast-paced environment
- Experience managing food and labor costs, inventory, purchasing, and recipe costing
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations; ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain)
- Flexible schedule with availability for evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak business periods
Sous Chef Responsibilities
- Support the Executive Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations while maintaining exceptional food quality and consistency
- Lead, mentor, and develop culinary team members to ensure efficient production and high performance
- Manage inventory, ordering, scheduling, food costs, and labor expenses to meet operational goals
- Assist with menu development, recipe creation, and standardized culinary execution
- Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe kitchen environment that meets all regulatory standards
- Ensure every dish is prepared with precision, consistency, and the presentation expected in an upscale dining experience
