Restaurant Manager Requirements & Qualifications

  • Two-year culinary degree or four-year college diploma required (no exceptions)
  • 1–2 years experience in high-volume, full-service restaurant environments
  • Assertive, energetic, and resilient with a strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be coachable and thrive in a team-based, structured culture
  • Able to pass a drug test (excluding marijuana)

Restaurant Manager Preferred Background & Skills

  • Experience as an upscale server or supervisor in a busy dining setting
  • Ability to adapt to a family-owned, high-powered environment
  • Flexible and enthusiastic with a passion for hospitality

Restaurant Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Oversee floor operations, leading servers, hosts, bussers, and runners to ensure seamless service
  • Act as a hospitality ambassador by resolving guest concerns and creating a welcoming atmosphere
  • Coach, train, and motivate team members; manage scheduling and performance
  • Monitor food quality and service standards on the floor, supporting a culture of excellence
  • Collaborate closely with kitchen and management teams to achieve restaurant goals
  • Take a hands-on approach during peak hours, assisting staff wherever needed
