A family-owned, community-based retail store located in Needham which sells high-end men’s suits, tuxedos, sportscoats, jeans, casual wear and footwear. We also sell boys’ dress clothing for special occasions.

Job Summary

The manager is accountable for all aspects of managing a single retail store. This leader drives the store’s business through a focus on performance (sales and service), people (training and development), and process (standard operating procedures). This position requires a passion for operational excellence, a drive for results, and the ability to lead, influence and develop their team.

Sales Leadership + Accountability

  • The main priority is to take care of customers and sell clothing. Consistently be a top performer while working alongside other sales staff.
  • Manage walk-in traffic effectively to maximize sales opportunities and ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Build strong relationships with all customers, ensuring personalized, exceptional service.
  • Handle escalated customer concerns with professionalism and urgency, ensuring positive outcomes.

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure showroom operations run smoothly, meeting company standards for appearance, cleanliness, and efficiency.
  • Ensure products are merchandised to maximize sales and customer experience.
  • Communicate product or merchandising needs and opportunities to your manager/owner.
  • Solve operational challenges proactively with a focus on improving efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Fittings and Alterations

  • Conduct accurate fittings to ensure garments meet customer expectations for fit and comfort.
  • Manage and complete customer appointments efficiently, ensuring all fittings are performed in a timely manner.
  • Oversee the fitting process by holding the team accountable for quality and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with tailors and alteration specialists to communicate customer requirements effectively.
  • Educate customers on the fitting process and set clear expectations.

People Development

  • Develop a high-performing sales floor team that is sales-driven and customer-focused.
  • Provide consistent feedback and training on product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer service.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment, aligned with company values and objectives. We are not commission-based.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3-5+ years of retail management experience, preferably in men’s clothing.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, mentor, and develop the sales staff.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on building relationships with clients.
  • Solid understanding of menswear products, fit, and tailoring processes.
  • Confidence in decision-making and ability to act independently when needed.
  • Experience with retail management software is an asset.

  • Stay up to date with current fashion trends and industry developments.
  • Embrace teamwork, flexibility, and courtesy while executing tasks.
  • Must be available to work weekends and holidays. NO NIGHTS!
  • Must bend, reach, stretch for product as well as lift, carry and move at least 40 pounds | 18 kilos.
