A well-established Midwest law firm is seeking an experienced Nurse Paralegal to join its busy healthcare litigation team in Chicago.
This position offers a unique opportunity to combine clinical expertise with legal support work in a collaborative, team-focused environment. The ideal candidate will have healthcare litigation experience, strong organizational skills, and a nursing background in ER, Med-Surg, Neuro, Cardiac/Telemetry, Oncology, or Surgery/ICU settings.
Responsibilities
- Review and summarize medical records for attorneys
- Prepare detailed medical chronologies
- Apply clinical knowledge and nursing judgment to healthcare cases
- Research medical issues and expert witnesses
- Assist with case strategy development
- Organize electronic and physical case files and support litigation functions
- Manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
Qualifications
- 2–4+ years of experience in a healthcare-focused litigation practice preferred
- Nursing experience in ER, Med-Surg, Neuro, Telemetry/Cardiac, Oncology, or Surgery/ICU required
- Insurance defense experience preferred
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word and Excel
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
What We Offer
- Compensation: $75,000–$100,000
