Maintenance Mechanic Requirements & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required
  • Technical School Certification or 2–3 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination
  • Experience in automation or fabrication required
  • Ability to interpret basic mechanical and electrical schematics
  • Valid driver’s license

Maintenance Mechanic Preferred Background & Skills

  • Experience with welding and piping assembly
  • Manufacturing industry experience
  • Strong attention to detail and confidentiality
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines and manage multiple projects
  • Team-oriented with effective communication and relationship-building skills

Maintenance Mechanic Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and complete repair work orders to keep facility equipment running smoothly
  • Troubleshoot and repair process equipment such as pumps, agitators, valves, air compressors, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and packaging equipment
  • Diagnose issues in motor control systems and replace defective parts including fuses, starters, relays, and power supplies
  • Service plant instrumentation including flow meters, level meters, and transmitters
  • Repair mobile equipment like forklifts, aerial lifts, and pallet-lifting machines
  • Maintain compliance of facility systems, including fire, steam boilers, and pollution control equipment
  • Participate in site improvement programs and safety initiatives

This role requires availability for first and second shifts and occasional off-shift hours to meet operational needs.
