Maintenance Mechanic Requirements & Qualifications
- High School Diploma required
- Technical School Certification or 2–3 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination
- Experience in automation or fabrication required
- Ability to interpret basic mechanical and electrical schematics
- Valid driver’s license
Maintenance Mechanic Preferred Background & Skills
- Experience with welding and piping assembly
- Manufacturing industry experience
- Strong attention to detail and confidentiality
- Ability to meet strict deadlines and manage multiple projects
- Team-oriented with effective communication and relationship-building skills
Maintenance Mechanic Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and complete repair work orders to keep facility equipment running smoothly
- Troubleshoot and repair process equipment such as pumps, agitators, valves, air compressors, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and packaging equipment
- Diagnose issues in motor control systems and replace defective parts including fuses, starters, relays, and power supplies
- Service plant instrumentation including flow meters, level meters, and transmitters
- Repair mobile equipment like forklifts, aerial lifts, and pallet-lifting machines
- Maintain compliance of facility systems, including fire, steam boilers, and pollution control equipment
- Participate in site improvement programs and safety initiatives
This role requires availability for first and second shifts and occasional off-shift hours to meet operational needs.
