Chemist (bi-lingual)
A leading manufacturer in the coatings industry is seeking a chemist to join their team in Lansing. This role offers a unique opportunity to work directly with customers, contribute to product development, and support innovative technical solutions within a collaborative environment.
Chemist Benefits & Compensation
- Competitive salary ($57,428.80 to $87,464.00 annually), negotiable based on experience

Chemist Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or a related scientific field
- Minimum 2 years of relevant industry experience
- Willingness to travel as needed for customer support
- Ability to work flexible hours and occasional overtime
- Capable of safely using PPE and working with isocyanates (must be clean shaven for respirator use)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including professional presentation of technical information
Chemist Preferred Background & Skills
- Manufacturing industry experience
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Understanding of business processes such as SAP or AS/400 systems
Chemist Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory work including paint and panel preparation, testing, and record-keeping as assigned
- Analyze formulas, investigate technical issues, and support problem-solving with supervisor guidance
- Operate hand-spray and automated application equipment to produce and evaluate test panels
- Travel with technical teams to support customer trials and implement solutions
- Communicate technical data, project results, and reports to internal and external stakeholders
- Accurately maintain lab notebooks, records, and project documentation
- Adapt workflow and prioritize tasks to meet customer needs and business timelines
