Tax Manager – San Francisco, CA
A growing, well-capitalized accounting technology company is expanding in San Francisco and seeking a highly skilled tax professional to join their team. Tax Manager Benefits & Compensation
- $120,000–$200,000 base salary (flexible depending on experience) plus equity participation

Tax Manager Requirements & Qualifications
- Strong background in 1040 preparation
- Extensive experience with high-complexity high-net-worth returns
- Deep, hands-on familiarity with CCH Axcess (non-negotiable)
- Multi-state tax expertise
- Foreign reporting knowledge (FBAR, FATCA, etc.)
- Proven ability to work independently while collaborating across teams
- Willingness to work in-person in San Francisco
Tax Manager Preferred Background & Skills
- Experience with GoSystem
- Background at a mid-market accounting firm
- Broad generalist tax exposure (not siloed, Big 4 specialization)
Tax Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Prepare and review complex individual 1040 tax returns
- Handle tax filings for high-net-worth clients, including multi-layered financial reporting
- Manage multi-state filings and foreign disclosures
- Serve as the in-house expert on CCH Axcess
- Operate independently while collaborating cross-functionally with other departments
- Contribute to ongoing process improvements and maintain technical excellence
