Construction Associate Attorney

The Tampa office is actively seeking an attorney who can immediately contribute to a busy construction litigation team.
Construction Associate Attorney Benefits & Compensation
- Competitive base salary starting around $185,000+, with flexibility based on experience
- Exceptional candidates may command compensation exceeding $200,000
- 1,850 billable hour requirement with bonus eligibility beginning at 1,950 hours, including a $10,000 bonus opportunity and additional production-based incentives

Construction Associate Attorney Requirements & Qualifications
- Active Florida Bar license in good standing
- 4+ years of substantive construction litigation experience
- Defense-side construction litigation experience strongly preferred
- Ability to independently manage litigation matters from inception through resolution
- Experience handling all phases of litigation, including discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediations, and hearings
- Strong legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills
- Excellent communication and client relationship management abilities
- Strong academic credentials
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
- Ability to work full-time in the Tampa office
Construction Associate Attorney Preferred Background & Skills
- Experience representing owners, developers, general contractors, subcontractors, architects, engineers, or construction-related businesses
- Experience handling construction defect claims, contract disputes, delay claims, payment disputes, and related construction litigation matters
- Experience working with construction experts and technical consultants
- Familiarity with construction contracts and risk allocation issues
- Experience working collaboratively within a litigation team while also managing matters independently
- Strong client-service orientation and business-minded approach to legal practice
Construction Associate Attorney Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Manage construction litigation matters from inception through resolution
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and legal memoranda
- Conduct legal research and develop litigation strategies
- Take and defend depositions
- Prepare for and attend hearings, mediations, and other court proceedings
- Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and witnesses
- Collaborate with partners and attorneys across the firm's construction practice
- Analyze construction contracts, project documentation, and technical records
- Provide practical legal guidance and strategic counsel to construction industry clients
