Executive Kitchen Manager
Southwest Troy, MI
Compensation: $95,000–$130,000 Base Salary + Bonus
A well-established, chef-driven restaurant group is seeking an experienced culinary leader to oversee kitchen operations at one of its flagship locations. This position is designed for a passionate operator who thrives in a high-volume environment, develops strong teams, and is committed to delivering exceptional food quality and guest experiences.
What You'll Do as an Executive Kitchen Manager:
- Providing day-to-day leadership for all culinary operations
- Managing from the line, not the office
- Building, mentoring, and retaining a high-performing kitchen team
- Maintaining consistency in food quality, execution, and presentation standards
- Managing labor performance, inventory levels, purchasing, and cost controls
- Creating efficient systems and processes that support operational excellence
- Ensuring compliance with food safety, sanitation, and regulatory requirements
- Partnering with restaurant leadership to deliver an exceptional guest experience
- Supporting menu implementation, recipe adherence, and seasonal feature execution
Ideal Background for this Executive Kitchen Manager:
- Experience leading kitchen operations in upscale casual, polished casual, or fine dining environments
- Demonstrated success managing high-volume service operations
- Strong leadership skills with a focus on coaching, accountability, and team development
- Financial acumen, including labor management, food cost control, and inventory oversight
- Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution
- ServSafe Certification or equivalent food safety credentials
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and peak business periods as needed
