Litigation Associate Attorney Benefits & Compensation

Litigation Associate Attorney Requirements & Qualifications

• Active Tennessee Bar license in good standing
• 3–6 years of commercial litigation experience
• Ability to independently manage litigation responsibilities while working collaboratively within a team
• Experience handling all phases of litigation, including discovery, depositions, motion practice, and court appearances
• Strong legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills
• Experience drafting discovery, motions, and dispositive motions
• Experience conducting and defending depositions
• Excellent communication and client relationship management abilities
• Strong academic credentials
• Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
• Comfortable appearing in court and advocating on behalf of clients
• Ability to work full-time in the Memphis office

Litigation Associate Attorney Background & Skills

• Commercial litigation experience in a law firm environment
• Defense-side litigation experience
• Experience drafting and arguing dispositive motions
• Strong courtroom presence and advocacy skills
• Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
• Collaborative approach and desire to build a long-term career with the firm

Litigation Associate Attorney Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Manage and support commercial litigation matters through all phases of the litigation process
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, responses, and legal memoranda
• Conduct legal research and develop litigation strategies
• Take and defend depositions
• Prepare for and attend hearings, mediations, and court proceedings
• Assist with case management from inception through resolution
• Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, witnesses, and experts
• Collaborate with partners and attorneys across the firm's litigation practice
• Provide practical legal guidance and strategic support to clients
