A growing manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Plant Superintendent to oversee daily operations within a high-volume production facility. This leadership role is responsible for driving operational excellence across production, packaging, maintenance, warehousing, quality, and supply chain functions while ensuring safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives are consistently achieved.

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on operations leader with strong experience managing plant performance, leading teams, improving KPIs, and maintaining compliance within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily plant operations including production, maintenance, packaging, warehousing, and logistics
  • Lead cross-functional teams to achieve production goals, operational efficiencies, and quality standards
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to improve throughput, reduce downtime, and increase labor efficiency
  • Monitor and improve plant KPIs including yield, labor utilization, scrap, downtime, and operational performance
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, food safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements including OSHA, GMP, HACCP, FSMA, FDA, and USDA standards
  • Develop and manage budgets, labor planning, operational costs, and capital improvement initiatives
  • Lead, mentor, and develop supervisors and frontline leadership teams while fostering a strong accountability-driven culture
  • Oversee preventative maintenance and equipment reliability programs to maximize uptime and operational performance
  • Partner with engineering, procurement, quality, and logistics teams to support operational goals and plant improvements
  • Lead investigations and corrective actions related to quality concerns, safety incidents, and operational deviations

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of manufacturing operations experience with at least 5 years in plant leadership or superintendent-level roles
  • Food manufacturing or other highly regulated manufacturing experience strongly preferred
  • Plant turnaround, operational improvement, or continuous improvement experience highly desired
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, KPI management, budgeting, and operational leadership
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Food Science, or related field preferred
  • Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and team development skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment
