Clinical Research Coordinator Requirements & Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of clinical research experience
  • Registered Nurse licensure or bachelor’s degree in healthcare or a related field strongly preferred
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Proficient with clinical trial management systems and electronic data capture tools
  • Solid understanding of Good Clinical Practice (GCP), FDA regulations, and IRB requirements
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Detail-oriented with flexibility in working hours to meet study demands
  • Experience with EMR (EPIC a plus) as well as Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • CCRC or CCRP certification preferred

Clinical Research Coordinator Preferred Background & Skills

  • Fluency in Spanish
  • Experience in cardiac research studies

Clinical Research Coordinator Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and evaluate cardiac clinical research trials, ensuring compliance with GCP/ICH guidelines and FDA regulations
  • Serve as primary contact for sponsors and coordinate study start-up activities including IRB submissions and site visits
  • Maintain thorough and accurate study documentation, regulatory files, and patient records
  • Assess patient eligibility, conduct consent processes, and monitor patient enrollment and retention
  • Record and report adverse events, assist with audits, and help resolve protocol deviations
  • Support the preparation of research budgets and monetary disbursements
  • Mentor and train junior research staff on protocol procedures and compliance
