Senior Accountant – Remote

Senior Accountant Benefits & Compensation

• Base salary: $80,000–$100,000

Senior Accountant Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Experience in real estate, lending, or debt fund accounting
• Demonstrated ability to build and manage amortization schedules and loan-level accounting
• Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency across the Microsoft 365 suite
• Experience managing or mentoring accounting staff
• Ability to thrive in a highly accountable, remote setting

Senior Accountant Preferred Background & Skills

• Real estate accounting, debt fund, or private credit experience
• Loan accounting expertise
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations
• Experience with investor reporting, distribution calculations, or fund accounting
• Participation in process automation or system implementation initiatives

Senior Accountant Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Own the full month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
• Oversee general ledger, journal entries, bank reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
• Mentor and review the work of an AP-focused Accountant, ensuring correct GL coding, vendor payments, and invoice processing
• Maintain and reconcile detailed loan accounting, including amortization schedules and monthly accruals
• Oversee monthly investor distribution calculations and coordinate investor tax document preparation
• Serve as a power user of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations for accounting functions
• Partner with the VP of Finance to improve processes and internal controls, and collaborate across departments
